Teacher: Inge de Waard
Whether we like it or not, we’re all part of the AI club now! Think of it this way: Generative AI (GenAI) is like a giant sponge, soaking up information from all of us and the vast ocean of the internet. If our brilliant (or not so brilliant) ideas weren’t in the original mix, they’ve definitely been added by now. But just because our data is being processed together into a knowledgeable cloud, it doesn’t mean we’re automatically standing on each other’s shoulders, ready to reach new heights.
So, how do we harness this fresh, raw power to propel us to the next learning horizon? In this keynote, Inge De Waard shares some use cases, a few bumps in the road my colleagues and I have hit, and extend a hand to explore what we have in common and where we want to go next. Let’s dive in and see what we can achieve together!
Inge De Waard is a longtime researcher, activist, and award-winning learning innovator. She currently works as a passionate learning strategist for the Masters+ at InnoEnergy (European network of engineering and business universities). In the past, Inge coordinated multiple online and hybrid initiatives, co-designed AI tools and EdTech.
She co-creates international, blended curricula with engineers and teachers, while exploring and embedding active learning formats. Her expertise is recognized by peers, resulting in additional co-authored papers, invited talks and keynotes in both academic as well as professional conferences, workshops and seminars.
She recently co-created the AI for Teachers’ LinkedIn group to share AI experiences with teachers around the world. While acquiring some status throughout her meandering life, she now realizes that accolades are ephemeral. Innovation emerges through daydreaming and engaging in authentic human conversations. So, let’s talk.
