Students from the humanities at UCPH have developed materials (during the fall semester of 2024) to further discussions among both students and teachers about the use of AI in teaching – this is the result of a co-creation project to include students voices in teachers’ digital competencies development.

The students decided to develop materials to creating more debate about AI and the use of AI in education:

“If we don’t dare to discuss what we are doing with AI, then how do I know if this is a good study practice? Or if it’s a bad idea and it means I don’t learn anything myself?”

If the use of AI is only done in secret it becomes unclear what is allowed – and it might become taboo to discuss one’s use (or non-use) of AI with other students or teachers, which does not further productive use and critical discussions about how AI can be used well to learn more – or when the use is not a great idea, when does AI become the “trap of laziness” as the students dubbed it?

About the CUTIE project & Co-Creation

These materials was an outcome of a co-creation project to include students voices in teachers’ digital competencies development. This is part of the CUTIE-project – and specifically workpackage 3, which focuses on how we can include student’s voices more in efforts to support teacher’s digital competencies development. Read more about co-creating with students and find the resources developed and much more in the CUTIE catalogue as well as the CUTIE CoCreation principles.
