Why is it a problem to teach molecular biology and microbiology in large laboratories? We will present the issues and how we solved them with a digital solution facilitating live streaming of details during laboratory exercises across multiple laboratories.

We have established a real-time displaying system consisting of TVs and broadcasting system to live-stream details from the lab bench during laboratory exercises.
We will go in depth with the setup and the first student reactions, presenting a demo video from the first PhD course that used the digital setup and a student survey.

What was your motivation?

To help students in different Labs, follow the different assignments on a large screen and then do them themselves afterward. Thus enabling larger and more flexible courses.
